Iben Højer Hansen is programme director for the Danish Design Centre’s focus on design-driven business development, which aims to activate design in helping Danish business and industry grow and develop in a national and international context.
The key focus areas are user involvement, new business models, establishing and using networks and productive partnerships and clear communication about the close relationship between design and the companies’ bottom line. In addition, she offers professional feedback to the DDC’s project managers and is involved in strategy and business development .
Iben views design thinking as a human approach to innovation, where designers draw on knowledge about users and market trends to integrate the company’s strategy and technological capacity in a strategic process aimed at generating future growth and value for the users, the company and society at large . Currently, she is involved in the Plus programme, a partnership programme for preparing companies and designers to go to market.
Iben has been with the DDC since 2008. Her background includes a position as account manager in an ad agency and about ten years in the telecommunications industry, where she worked with communication, marketing and CRM.
